Meet Dr. Julia Marinos, C.Psych.

Dr. Marinos is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Ottawa and her predoctoral residency at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. She has experience assessing and treating complex severe mental health concerns with diverse clients across multiple settings including tertiary care mental health hospitals, private clinics, and a university-based community clinic. She worked as a Clinical Consultant and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Trainer at Waypoint Mental Health Hospital. During her time at the hospital, she was a professional practice lead for psychology where she served on several committees related to patient care and was appointed to the research institute as a clinical researcher.  Her research focuses on improving outcomes of CBT for anxiety disorders, PTSD, and psychosis. 


Dr. Marinos provides psychological assessment and treatment to adults with the following concerns:

She uses evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. She completed certification in Prolonged Exposure for PTSD and Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD through the University of Pennsylvania. She also earned provider status certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. 


Dr. Marinos has extensive experience working with executives, athletes, physicians, and lawyers experiencing stress related to career, work-life balance, relationships, and other mental health concerns. 


Her practice is inclusive, she welcomes everyone without judgement, and provides culturally responsive care. She takes a client-centered approach by working collaboratively with clients to establish meaningful goals and tailors treatment to the needs of the individual. 


Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, reading, baking, and hiking. 


Services are delivered virtually. 


Rate: $300 per session
